As of December 2024, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) introduced a new high-density seating configuration for its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner fleet. This aircraft, with a total capacity of 320 seats (J16Y304), represents a significant step in RAM’s strategy to meet growing demand on popular international routes.
In the first quarter of 2025, the airline will deploy this 320-seater Dreamliner on select routes from its hub in Casablanca, Morocco, to destinations across Africa, Europe, and North America. The move comes as Royal Air Maroc seeks to optimize capacity and improve efficiency during peak travel seasons.
The high-density Dreamliner will operate on the following routes during the first quarter of 2025 and continue on select dates during the Northern Summer season (March 30 to October 25, 2025):
For routes like Toronto and Sao Paulo, the introduction of the 320-seater 787-9 marks a notable capacity increase, as these routes previously utilized the smaller Boeing 787-8.

This new layout optimizes space utilization while maintaining a comfortable passenger experience, aligning with RAM’s goal of balancing efficiency and service quality.
The routes to Toronto, Montreal, Miami, and Washington Dulles highlight Royal Air Maroc’s focus on strengthening ties with North America. These markets have consistently shown strong demand for both leisure and business travel, as well as for connections to Morocco’s extensive network in Africa.
For Sao Paulo Guarulhos, the introduction of the 320-seater 787-9 brings a significant capacity boost to one of RAM’s most important routes in South America. This move underscores the growing importance of Brazil as a travel and trade partner for Morocco.
The high-density configuration also benefits shorter-haul routes such as Paris Orly, Istanbul, and Dakar, where frequency and efficiency are critical to meeting competitive market demands.
The launch of the high-density Boeing 787-9 configuration reflects Royal Air Maroc’s commitment to staying competitive in an evolving aviation landscape. By leveraging the Dreamliner’s fuel efficiency and passenger capacity, RAM positions itself as a leader in connecting Morocco to the world, reinforcing Casablanca’s role as a global transit hub.
This strategic move comes at a time of increased global travel demand, particularly in emerging markets. As Royal Air Maroc continues to expand its fleet and network, the airline is well-poised to capture market opportunities while delivering a world-class travel experience.
The high-density 787-9’s deployment across key routes in 2025 signals a bold step in Royal Air Maroc’s growth strategy, combining capacity expansion with operational flexibility. With enhanced connections to North America, South America, Europe, and Africa, the airline strengthens its competitive position while meeting the needs of a diverse global passenger base.
